One of the beauties of encaustic painting (wax + natural pigment) you can heat it up and scrape off the melted parts. This painting went through many transitions before it became the piece it did. I finally stopped working it and enjoyed the simplicity and complexity of "dots." As the model gazes over Roy Lichtenstein's Torpedo painting (an artist that mastered the use of dots in his work) Popeye gets all worked up in the background. Just to help you realize what your looking at I've added the "Dots" logo from those sugary tooth sticking candies.
